So the cats
I promised a post of a feline nature and I will not disappoint. Despite the traumatic events of the last 24 hours(which I will talk about at some point) I am trying to stick to my remit of posts of no consequence. Pictures of kitties now:
The big black boy is Loki. Approx 2 yrs old; ex stray; terrified of the world outisde our flat; stupidly big appetite; skin allergies; very vocal - lovely boy!
The stunning tortoiseshell is Izzy(short for Isis): 7 months old; rescued from people who own and don't like pussycats. She is stupidly affectionate and madly aggressive at the same time. The best kind of cat.
When I have the energy and time I will post pics of my parents beautiful British Shorthair. However the next post will be of a vastly more serious nature, thus breaking my rule of "things of no consequence".

Mash ups
Sat on a bus listening to a few tunes courtesy of Frostwire. While I will admit I'm not a massive fan of mash ups I have to say I've found a couple of belters!
NIN vs 50 Cent: Closer in da club. This is far far better than it actually sounds. The rhythmic bass line of Closer perfectly suits the lyrics of possible the finest poet since Chaucer(note to self: sarcasm doesn't work in print)
Prodigy vs Enya: Smack my bitch up the Orinoco Flow. Frankly the title tells you everything you need to know. Wailing Celtic vocals over some of the dirtiest beats of the last couple of decades. Awesome.
Now all the world needs is Olly Murs vs Justin Bieber - preferably in a small room with blunt knives.
Totally Mexico

Back now
Been away a while for one reason or another.
Will be trying my best to post much more regularly on a variety of trivial subjects.
I can promise the first topic of zero consequence will be my cats and their increasingly erratic behaviour - photos as well if the laptop behaves!

Far too happy to rant
Although this probable just a temporary situation. In my experience something always comes along to spoil the moment. However I am in far too much of a good moment to bring myself to rant about anything. I'm all loved up and have seen my insecurities and fears of the future melt away in the fire of this girls feelings for me.
Will no doubt be back to feeling misanthropic soon - something always comes along to make me angry!

The balance of good vs bad
Why is it that as soon as something really good happens in life it's immediately balanced against something toss? I don't mean in the sense that 2 events occur that are good and bad in equal measure but that one happens usually around the same time as the other. Take today for example: Went to work this morning fully expecting another dreadful day in my dead end keyboard monkey job, instead I had a really good day and ended the day with a new girlfriend! Then tonight, I fully expected to leave work and mosey on over to Huddersfield to see the excellent Prof. Mike Page give a lecture on the origins of Darwins theories of evolution. Instead, thanks to a combination of bad weather, shocking traffic and someone selfish enough to crash their car in Bradford city centre, I ended up missing the start of the lecture by 40 minutes and sitting in the University library waiting for my lift home.
See what I mean - Good thing happens = Bad thing happens.
I demand an explanation - and if anybody mentions karma I will not be held responsible for my actions!
